From 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires organisations holding your personal data to follow more rigid rules on privacy and security, giving you the right to have better control over the way your personal details are processed by the The Portsmouth Society (PSOC).

The personal data held by PSOC is limited to contact details, including name, address, email address and telephone number, plus data relating to subscription amounts and membership renewal dates. We believe that you would expect, as members, to receive your regular newsletters and invitations to events. Under the new regulations, our use of your personal data represents what is termed our ‘legitimate interest’ and we do not need your formal consent to continue to contact you.

Please be assured that we take our responsibility for your personal data very seriously. We will only contact you about the business of the Society and we will never pass your personal information to other organisations without your consent. Should you decide in future that you do not wish to receive communications from us, we are committed under the GDPR to respect your privacy and to amend your preferences on our records on request.

If you would like further detail on how we manage that data and how you can contact us to make changes, please read our Privacy Notice here.
