Now we're really in the swim to save the Lido!
Two recent public meetings at the Lido's Blue Lagoon have seen the numbers of supporters now working to save this much-loved swimming pool quickly grow from the original half a dozen at the beginning of the year to 32 and then to 50 and still the numbers of people wanting to get involved continues to grow.
Consequently, a further meeting but at a new venue is planned for 7pm on Tuesday 13th November.
All will be welcomed for there is much to do and little time in which to do it and a wide variety of skills, abilities and just plain moral support are urgently required. Certainly a case of 'many hands will make light work'!
This burgeoning, happy group now officially calling itself HILSEA LIDO POOL FOR THE PEOPLE has adopted The Avenue Hotel at 314 Twyford Avenue, Stamshaw for future meetings.
On Tuesday next the the function room doors open at 6.30 with refreshments available from the bar downstairs.
